Get Ahead, Reduce Stress & Improve VCE Marks

Dates: Saturday 9 January – Sunday 24 January 2021
Venue: Interactive, Live-Streamed Online Lectures

The VCE is a great source of stress for most students, but it doesn’t have to be this way. With the right advice, a smart study plan and advance coverage of course materials, you can:

• reduce stress levels
• cut down on the time spent studying
• achieve higher SAC marks
• improve subject ranks
• gain a significant advantage in the VCE

Working through course materials on your own, however, can be boring, tedious and time-consuming, particularly during the school holidays when motivation levels are low.

That’s why we’ve handpicked some of the best VCE teachers in the state and developed a comprehensive head start program that will allow you to get ahead with minimum effort, and secure the best possible advantage in their VCE.

So Get Ahead, Reduce Stress & Improve VCE Marks

  • You’ll work through key Unit 1 or Unit 3 topics to an A+ standard, in a relaxed, step-by-step manner.
  • You’ll clarify misconceptions that result in the loss of valuable marks in SACs and exams.
  • You’ll cover the more difficult concepts (and not just the basic principles).
  • You’ll work through a wide variety of SAC and exam-style questions and learn to recognise potential sources of error as well as the tricks and traps that could appear in assessments.
  • You’ll work through the applications that typically appear in the “open book” mathematics exams.
  • You’ll learn the problem-solving skills that are needed to secure the higher SAC and examination marks.
  • You’ll receive valuable advice from leading VCE teachers and VCE exam assessors, giving you an edge in the VCE.
  • The highest quality instruction from experienced VCE teachers and VCAA exam markers (not unqualified university students).
  • Between 6 and 14.5 hours of tuition in each enrolled subject.
  • Engaging and interactive teaching that caters for different learning styles.
  • Unlimited access to a recording of the audio-visual presentation for each enrolled lecture until 30 June 2021.
  • Detailed, comprehensive A+ notes that include clear and concise explanations, fully worked examples with step-by-step instructions and
exam watch-outs – saving you countless hours in study time.
  • A large collection of exam-style questions to further consolidate and extend on taught skills at home.
  • The skills and information you’ll need to perform to a high standard in your SACs.
  • Friendly, engaging, passionate and committed teachers.
  • A level playing field (students taught by VCE exam assessors DO have an advantage over other students).

Students who work through subject materials ahead of school will quickly see the benefits when the same topics are covered in class. While other students struggle to understand new concepts being presented, you’ll be hearing this information for the second time. As a result:

  • Your understanding of examinable materials will increase.
  • You’ll write fewer notes in class, allowing you to direct your full attention to what your teachers are saying.
  • Your ability to apply concepts will greatly improve.
  • You’ll get more out of your classes at school, reducing the need for private tutors.
  • You can use the time spent in class consolidating learnings, and to ask your teachers the tough and insightful questions you wouldn’t usually think of until you’re revising for a SAC or exam.
  • You won’t get stuck on questions as frequently, reducing the time you’ll need to spend on homework.
  • You’ll ingrain examinable materials into long-term memory, decreasing the time and effort that’s needed to prepare for SACs and exams.
  • You’ll get higher marks in your SACs.
  • You’ll improve your subject ranks and your moderated SAC marks.
  • You’ll develop more confidence in your abilities.
  • You’ll be less likely to procrastinate your studies, reducing stress levels and study loads across the year.
  • You’ll achieve higher VCE marks.

It’s been repeatedly shown that the students who can skilfully shape their ideas and arguments, use language appropriate to the chosen audience, context, form and purpose, and show sophistication and flair in their writing will receive the higher English marks. This requires high level analytic thinking and writing, and both of these are essential to all aspects of VCE English.

Our ‘Analytical Thinking & Writing – The Key to Success in VCE English’  lecture will provide systematic, foolproof strategies that will enable you to develop and hone strategies to think beyond the obvious, and develop well-crafted, articulate analytic arguments. Detailed examples of paragraphs and essays that demonstrate the differences between A and B grade responses will be investigated, and you will leave this lecture with clear strategies that will greatly improve your English essay marks.

Valued at $150, this lecture is FREE and exclusive to students attending our Unit 1 and/or Unit 3 Summer School – Head Start Lectures.

During the VCE, it’s important to do things systematically and progressively, otherwise, you’ll never get the marks you’re capable of.  And the biggest impediment to consistency is procrastination.

We all know that procrastination works against our best interests. So why do we do it?

Join us in this lecture and learn why students procrastinate their studies, the mechanisms and psychology behind the process, effective strategies to overcome this common but serious problem, maintaining motivation and the secrets behind establishing strong habits that will enable you to painlessly integrate study into your daily routine.

Average ATAR

You will be taught by and receive up to date advice from official exam assessors (the focus of the exams and the marking schemes change on a regular basis). Assessors have access to important information that many teachers aren’t aware of, and which can make a significant difference to your ATAR result.

Knowing how the exam marking system works also gives assessors the ability to guide you through the exam preparation process in the quickest and most effective way. You’ll spend your time revising what really matters, and you can’t get that kind of guidance from recent high school graduates who have no teaching experience, and who don’t have access to the detailed insights our teachers provide.

The world’s leading educational specialists agree that lectures are the fastest and most effective way to revise and consolidate large amounts of information in a short time frame. Not only is it much faster to have an experienced teacher take you through the revision process, using audio and visual delivery processes enables you to work through and remember 5 times more information than if you were to work through the same materials on your own.

TSFX is highly regarded for the quality of our program materials – our students receive the most comprehensive and detailed exam preparation notes available that include every key concept that could be examined, as well as hundreds of examination-style questions that are not commercially available. As an example, students who attended our recent ‘Unit 3 Exam Revision Lectures’ received the following materials, saving them countless hours in exam preparation time:

Chemistry: Over 400 pages of notes and 320 exam-style questions.
Maths Methods: Over 400 pages of notes and 300 exam-style questions.

We constantly invest in our courses and materials to ensure our students receive every possible advantage in their VCE.

Our notes are improved and extended upon each year so that they reflect the annual changes in examination marking and question trends. To help make your exam preparations even easier, we integrate the important concepts and applications from the main textbooks and study resources into our course materials.

Note:

No other program provider has been able to match the quality and depth of materials that are issued to students who attend TSFX programs.

You will gain thorough exposure to the questions and tricks that could appear in the exams. (Students regularly comment that many of the questions they cover during our programs appear in the actual exams!)

You will correct problem areas and to hear information from a different perspective – improving the quality of exam responses and how well information can be applied in unfamiliar applications.

You will dramatically reduce stress levels during the semester and find more time for leisure activities.

You will dramatically reduce stress levels during the semester and find more time for leisure activities.

You will learn how examination papers are marked, how answers must be presented if they are to be awarded full scores, why common responses do not earn marks and how to minimise mistakes in the exams. The majority of class time is spent working through examination-style questions, as well as those questions that will serve to differentiate between the A/A+ and B grade scores.

You will minimise procrastination opportunities and ensure you get the most from your study sessions.

You will greatly improve your confidence levels and maximise Year 11 and 12 marks!
